Little Boys!

There comes a time in every rightly constructed boy's life that he has a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure.

This perfect layout is another Passages by Sherri. This is the last of the swap postings. I want to thank all of the ladies for making this a great swap and for helping me add to my memory albums. Few things in life are as important.

Hooked on Camping

We are going camping in four days and we are so excited. We have not gone camping since Courtney was a baby, so this will be Alexandra’s first experience. We plan to spend a few days at the lake, taking in the Canada day celebrations.

Another great layout by Sherri. She is sure doing an excellent job of showcasing the Passages paper and it’s many uses. Actually one of the things I love so much about CTMH is that there are so many uses for all of their products. Take Liquid Glass for instance…I use it for scrapbooking, for fixing things, as an adhesive..etc., etc., etc.

Leave me a comment stating your favorite use for Liquid Glass. On July 15th, I will random draw from the comments and the winner will receive a bottle of Liquid Glass from me.

Nothing But Blue Skies

I was blue, just as blue as I could be
Ev'ry day was a cloudy day for me
Then good luck came a-knocking at my door
Skies were gray but they're not gray anymore

Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see

Bluebirds
Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds
All day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly

Blue days
All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies
From now on

I remember playing this song in my high school jazz band. We actually won a provincial competition with this song. It has a tune that is etched in memory forever. Susie Noel did a great job of capturing the essence of the song on this layout done with the Splendor paper. My four year old daughter love love loves this layout, and do you want to know why? Simply because there is a worm on it and that is what she noticed. How funny is that?

Live Inspired!

“Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be…Close your eyes and let your spirit start to soar, and you’ll live as you’ve never lived before.” Erich Fromm

The first time I saw the passages paper, I was reminded of this quote. I would love to find it on a stamp set. It would be so fitting.

I had some pictures in mind when I made this Cherry-O layout. Like all other pictures, though, they are sitting on my hard drive, hoping to one day be developed. This is my contribution to the swap. I realize it is not as fabulous as the rest, but it was the best I could come up with at the time.

A Second Passage

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black.

Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

Robert Frost

I loved reciting this particular Frost poem when I was a kid and I love that Sherri used it on this Passages layout. It is so fitting, so perfect, so wonderful. It kind of makes me want to go on a road trip…you know?

Zippidee Doo-Dah

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay
My, oh my what a wonderful day!
Plenty of sunshine heading my way
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, zip-a-dee-ay

Close To My Heart took a song from a Disney classic and created a paper pack. If you have been or are planning a trip to Disneyworld or Disneyland, than this paper is a must have! It is also great for scrapbooking circus, carnival or birthday pictures.

The talented Ridehl Wilson created these pages, which would be suitable for any of the aforementioned events. Zippidee is an over-all fun paper pack to use and the possibilites are endless!

Check out the new Fancy Fuzz borders to match the paper. Does this not scream Disney to you?

Happy Father’s Day…

…to all the amazing dads out there, and especially to my husband, Marc. He is the world’s best Daddy and our kids are so lucky to have him home with them all the time. Happy Father’s Day, honey!

These Passages pages were created by the incredibly talented Sherri Lynne. She has had a lot going on in her life lately, and yet she still created some of the most amazing artwork I have ever seen. She created a different layout for each person, which makes the swap all that much harder. I am definitely inspired by her. I thought today was a fitting day to post them.

A “Splendor”ous Day, as Promised!

Wow, two day in a row…knock on wood! I am back with another fabulous layout, by another fabulous lady. She is my CTMH sister and she is very creative. Here is what she created for us:

This layout was created by Tina Winship. Though she only lives a couple of hours away from me, I have never met her. Maybe I will one day. She created this “Summer Fun” layout using the Splendor paper packet.

Long Time, No See!

I am sorry that I have been away from my blog for so long. If I have any followers left, I promise to try and do better. Life gets in the way once in awhile and crafting gets put on the back burner. The great news is that I recently hosted a 12x12 Layout swap and all the pages are now in. The ladies that I swapped with did a fabulous job and I am really excited to showcase my family’s pictures on the pages. For the next few days, I am going to be showcasing the girl’s hard work, one layout a day. Feel free to leave comments for them and I will be sure to pass the messages along. Enjoy.
