A “Spring” Birthday Card

I made this card for my sister-in-law for her birthday. My supplies were limited, as I was at my sister’s house when I made it and did not have access to any of my CTMH supplies. Thankfully she had a few stamp sets and it all worked out just fine. It makes me sad to look at the card and think of spring because it is snowing out again today and after the beautiful week we had last week, I was wondering if that was our summer :(

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #3

This week’s H2H challenge is a sketch. With a sketch, you can really interpret it how you want as long as the main guidelines are followed. I guess what I am trying to say is that as long as you can see the mail details from the sketch in your project, you are good to go.
Here is the sketch:

More Purses

I spent a good part of the afternoon yesterday creating more purses. I just have to make the cards to go inside and then I will have a great little gift to grab when I don’t have time to create something. I will call them the gift on the go.

(Excuse my yard…We had a horrible wind storm and blizzard last week and are hoping that it will be nice enough this weekend to do some yard work)

Cards for Purse Box

I made some greeting cards to match the purse box that I made for my mother-in-law’s birthday. They are very simple cards, but I did not want anything too fancy to take away from the purse itself. I know she will like them and who can’t use some extra cards, right?

CIMG2799

I again, used the Martha Stewart paper.

Both of the sentiments ( Happy Birthday and Best Wishes), as well as the frame around the sentiments are SU!

I used the SU! scalloped circle punch and the build-a-brads to make the flowers at the bottom.

The insides of the cards are blank, allowing for more writing.

I paired these with envelopes and put them inside the purse for a perfect little gift.

I am hoping to make some more purses today and use up this paper. I will post them tomorrow.

A Little Paper Purse

I saw a few of these adorable paper purses and I knew it would make a great birthday present for my mother-in-law. She would appreciate it and I thought it to be a great opportunity to finally create one. The pattern for the purse can be purchased here.

CIMG2793

I used Martha Stewart Classic Woodland Paper. (I received this pad as a gift for Christmas and needed a way to use it. I would personally never buy anything Martha Stewart.)

I used adhesive pearls for embellishments and te rest of the purse is made completely with paper.

Aren’t these purses cute. I plan to make some more to use up more of this paperpad. I would also like to make some matching greeting cards to put inside the purse.

I will hopefully get these done and posted in the next few days.

As always, thanks for visiting!

“Sweet Card”

The kids have been invited to a birthday party on Saturday for a little girl in the neighborhood. She will be turning six and I thought it was a great opportunity to make a card using the SU! sweet treats cups, which I had purchased some time ago. I would like to find some smaller gum balls for them, but alas, these will have to do until I accomplish that quest.

Most of the products used were from Stampin’ Up! This includes the paper, the gumball machine, the sweet treats cup and the gumball stamp used on the inside.

The sentiment from the inside of the card CTMH – For Every Occasion.

I am looking forward to playing around with the Sweet Treats cups some more, so there will likely be more post with them in the future.

I hope Emily enjoys her card and has a wonderful birthday!

Mini Paper Backpack

I made a mini paper backpack for William’s teacher as a thank-you gift for the end of the school year. It is hard to believe that there are only 10 more weeks of school left before the summer holidays. What is worse is that when school resumes in August, I will be taking two kids to the school bus. I don’t even want to think about that right now. So, back to the craft…It is a little paper backpack that will hold a gift card for Tim Horton’s or something. I found the template for the back pack on Becky Robert’s blog. You can find it here.

Swell News!

I made this card for Marc’s cousins who are expecting their second child in the fall. I pretty much CASED it from a fellow CTMH consultant, Vicki Wizniuk. She is one of the most artistic people and I love to follow her blog. She is the inspiration for many of the projects I make. You can see her version of the card here.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #2

I did not participate in last week’s Heart 2 Heart challenge because I did not have a blog set up yet. I am excited to be a part of these challenges, so I got right on this week’s challenge.
It is a 1/2/3 challenge…the requirements are:
*Use 1 stamped image (not 1 set, but 1 image)
*Use 2 different patterned papers
*Use 3 embellishments - these can be 3 of the same thing or 3 different things
CIMG2777
I made this paper piecing card. I followed the requirements, though it was very hard for me because I LOVE to embellish.
1. I used the sentiment from the set “For Every Occasion
2. I used the green swirly paper and the polka dot paper from the Heaven Sent Level 2 paperpack (retired)
3. I used three adhesive pearls for buttons on my paper pieced rhino. For the rhino, I used garden green cardstock and for his jacket, I used crystal blue cardstock.
I had fun making this card…William made one with me! I am looking forward to next week’s challenge.
Come back in to morning when I will be posting my Grand Opening Blog Candy!

A New Day, A New Blog

I figured it was time to boost it to the next level and join the world of the technically savvy. I figured it was finally time to build my first blog since my husband has three already. I guess my intent for this blog is to be able to share my artwork, my business and my love for papercrafting with others. I regularly check in on several scrapbooking blogs and have gathered so many ideas and information from them that I wanted to be able to give back as well. Also, I hope to have something new to post several times per week, so come back and visit often. Check back really soon for some grand blog opening blog candy!

This is a clock that I made for my new little nephew to match his bedroom. I used the Animal Cookies Level 2 Paper pack, Woodcut Alphabet (retired). I adhered the paper to the clock using liquid glass and I also liquid glassed the little hippopotamus to give him some dimension.

Have a splendid day and don’t forget to check back for the upcoming blog candy!
