Why Do I Scrapbook?

I wanted to create a piece of art for my scrapbook wall stating why I do what I do. I am not all that into pictures of myself (see yesterday’s post…you’ll understand) and I wanted to do a LO about me without any pictures. This is what I came up with.

I used the Felicity paper pack (January 2010 CTMH special) and stamp set.
I made the flowers using the circle punch and the hydrangeas are from OTC. What you cannot see is all the bling. The swirls are all glittery and there are raindrop stickers on all of the flowers. The title is also Stickled.

Last of the Tickled Pink

I have a few scraps left over to make a few cards, but I managed to get through the rest of the paper. For my last project, I made a paper bag album journal for my weight journey. I have always struggled with my weight. In fact, there was never a time in my life when I was not overweight and that includes when I was a baby. It is easy to blame heredity and genes, but in the end, it comes down to the fact hat I am the only one who can take hold of the problem and try to better myself. So, I created this journal as a tool for me to use, to write down my weight loss/gain and I have included hidden tags, on which I can write what I am feeling, frustrations, etc. I think it will be invaluable for me.

I think it is really ironic that, by using a scallop punch, my tags look like I took bites out of them. (Diet not going well..must eat scrapbook projects!)

5 Minute Tickled Pink

I decided on another 5 minute card challenge. The Tickled Pink stuff was all out anyways. This is what I ended up with and it only took 4 minutes and 16 seconds. Woo hoo!

Tickled Pink and Pinker!

One of my all-time favorite paper packs from CTMH has to be Tickled Pink. The stamp set that it came with is also definitely in my top 5! I have some new paper on it’s way from the paper sale, so I thought it was time to use up some of my older paper. Picking through it, I pulled out the Tickled Pink bag and challenged myself to use it all up before the new stuff got here. We shall see if I can do it! Today I created a journal. My mom and my friend and I are going to the Woman’s Journey of Faith conference in November. We get to stay in a hotel and I am so excited. I thought I would make them bit up a goodie bag and am putting a journal in each one. This one is for me, but I plan on making them both one as well…with different paper, of course because this package will be all gone ;)

5 Minute Card Challenge

I don’t have much time to scrapbook lately, with the new job and all. So, I decided to challenge myself to make a card in five minutes. I figured that way there would never be an excuse not to post something. After all, it takes more than 5 minutes to brush my teeth. So, including the time to grab supplies, this card took me 5 minutes and 28 seconds to make. Not too shabby!

I am not sure where most of the supplies are from. ( I had to grab what was handy, right!) The stamp is the Treetops stamp from CTMH. One of my favorites!

Lasting Memories Challenge #3

The challenge at Lasting Memories this week is to do some stamping on your layout. That one is not a difficult challenge for me because I live for stamping. I am a stamp addict and I am trying to remember the last time I did a LO without stamping. For this particular LO, I did a lot of stamping. It actually makes me cry when I look at it. I love how it turned out, but it makes me remember how hard it was being a single mom. I wouldn’t trade a second of the time I got to send with William, though. And, it id turn out in the end, as his dad and I smartened up and let God take control of our family. Now, with two little girls added to the mixture, we make a great bunch.
